Ministry of Culture - Startup4Culture

For the second consecutive year, the Ministry of Culture has chosen the WMF for the realization of initiatives and activities dedicated to the innovation of historical and cultural heritage. On the occasion of the 10th edition of the Festival, the formula chosen was that of a competition aimed at innovative startups active in the cultural field: Startup4Culture.

With the collaboration of the WMF along all phases of the initiative, the competition sponsored by the MiC registered over 200 applications and involved Italian and foreign startups. On the Startup Stage took place the final that saw the startup Mezzoforte awarded the award, delivered directly by the Director of the Digital Library of the MiC, Laura Moro. 

The Ministry of Culture was also present with a dedicated stand in the WMF exhibition area, where it presented innovative tools and projects.

EURid - Presentation e Networking

During the three days of the WMF, EURid the organization appointed by the European Commission as the registry of .eu domains organized a dedicated presentation in the room addressed to its registers to tell the new evolutions and news in the sector. In addition, at the end of the dedicated event in the room, two networking moments were held, an afternoon aperitif and a brunch, reserved and dedicated to the expected guests.

The WMF supported EURid in the realization of these moments both logistically and strategically.

In addition, EURid was present at the Rimini Fair with a branded exhibition space that allowed the brand to carry out the activities in a more agile way and to present itself to the entire WMF public, meeting them and inviting them to the organized moments.

European Parliament - Onsite

At WMF2022, for the third consecutive year, the European Parliament has chosen the Festival to address young people, stimulating their creativity in the realization of projects defined by the European institution. The Hackathon Europeans For Future was thus created, to involve young people in the construction of a social communication campaign that presented the various European reference programs.

The students, followed by mentors who are experts in the digital sector and thanks to teamwork, put into practice the skills acquired during their training courses, in the context of an international fair between professionals, guests, companies, startups and institutions from all over the world.

The structured communication campaigns were then evaluated by a jury of experts in the Digital sector composed of mentors and representatives of the European Parliament. The three finalist teams were rewarded with access to upcoming events organized by the Festival, such as the WMF Summer School 2023, the New Year of Training 2022 and the WMF 2023.

European Parliament - Onsite

On the occasion of WMF2021, held on July 15th -17th in Rimini, both onsite and online, the European Parliament and WMF collaborated to create an event dedicated to younger people, with the goal of building communication campaigns capable of involving citizens in the Conference on the Future of Europe.

The formula chosen was the hackathon, named #insiemeper #ilFuturoèTuo, that saw many young teams creating, during the three days in Rimini, creative communication campaigns with comics, drawings and visual arts on the 4 themes of the Conference: human rights, climate emergency, development and employment, and democratic participation in Europe.

The winning project was awarded on the Mainstage of the Festival, in the presence of MEP Brando Benifei, where the team presented their project social campaign in front of the audience present in Rimini and to those attending online on the platform.

Social Media Strategies - Onsite and Online

On the occasion of WMF2021, Social Media Strategies - the event for social media and web marketing professionals, created its own physical event within the three-days festival.

After more than a year of a forced stop for an event that annually welcomes thousands of attendees, WMF and SMS identified together the most appropriate way to return in presence, creating a fully dedicated and branded training room. In addition to the physical spaces available inside the Rimini Palacongressi, the Social Media Strategies event also took place within a dedicated virtual space on the interactive platform wmf.ibrida.io, where participants were able to interact freely with the event speakers.

SMConnect - Onsite and Online

Within the WMF2021, the advanced training event for digital marketing professionals Search Marketing Connect took place.

After more than a year of forced stop, Search Marketing Connect chose the Festival to return in presence by producing a physical, vertical event on digital marketing for industry professionals. The Format identified was in fact a training event, in presence in Rimini within a dedicated space but also online, with a virtual room - that allowed the interaction between participants and speakers - on the interactive platform wmf.ibrida.io.

European Parliament - Online

On the occasion of the Special Edition of the Festival that took place on June 4th,5th and 6th, 2020, the European Parliament and the WMF collaborated in the creation of a dedicated event that could contribute to the spread of the values of the EU institution by involving innovators and young Italians in European initiatives.

In particular, the goal was to give resonance to the #EuropeiControCovid19 initiative, considered an opportunity to relaunch the theme of Social and Solidarity Europe in a time of emergency.

The WMF identified an online hackathon as the perfect formula to get young people, artists and communicators to cooperate even remotely, giving visibility and providing valuable content to the Parliament's initiative.

During the hackathon, participants created creative communication campaigns dedicated to 4 Italian stories that stood out within the European initiative, all of that working online on the different projects to be presented during the final phase to Vice President Fabio Massimo Castaldo.

Mediaset - Onsite

Mediaset Infinity has been supporting the WMF since 2018.

In the first year of collaboration, the Festival organized a Hackathon for Mediaset Infinity: the activity was completely managed by the consulting department of Search On Media Group, actively in contact with the Infinity team.

The initiative aimed to search for innovative solutions to increase the retention rate of Infinity users, through the analysis of abandonment rate data. The Mediaset Infinity Hackathon was a real event focused on digital innovation, where Big Data, Machine Learning and Predictive Analysis were discussed.

Within the 2019 Festival agenda, the sponsor was supported in the creation of a training event dedicated to Video Strategy, with the aim of positioning itself as a reference player in the sector. Among the topics addressed: branded entertainment, value of (meta)data and creativity in video production.

Salesforce - Onsite

Salesforce joined the last edition of the Festival as the Main Sponsor of the event.

Their presence was organized, structured and supported by the WMF team through several dedicated initiatives:

• Salesforce event at WMF, through the creation of a training room during an entire day, with over 1,500 registered attendees.

• Dedicated stand in the Expo Area totally customized. WMF also supported the Partner in the implementation of the branded area.

• Talk on the WMF19 Mainstage in front of an audience of over 5,000 attendees.

Topics such as marketing automation, social media management, big data in advertising, and marketing analytics were discussed in the Salesforce Conference Room.

In the Mainstage Talk, a report on the state of Marketing, "State of Marketing Report, between Artificial Intelligence and New Market Trends", was presented by Andrea Buffoni (Regional Sales Director).

Shopify - Online

Shopify was the Main Sponsor of the WMF2020 Online Edition.

The context of the WMF succeeded in giving great visibility to the brand in the year when the health emergency definitely stated the success of online shops.

The partner carried out brand awareness through three activities:

• Mainstage talk by Shopify's Head of Italy, Paolo Picazio

• Branded E-commerce room

• Online booth on the WMF platform with visibility as Main Sponsor

GoDaddy - Onsite

During the last edition, the WMF hosted one of the stops of the GoTour,GoDaddy's tour dedicated to the "Real Business Competition", which offered €20,000 in communication prizes to promote a small or medium-sized business, tech startup or individual entreprise. In the outdoor Expo Area, the WMF organized activities for GoDaddy such as:

• Relaxation Area and Beer Point, which offered the sponsor the opportunity to carry out networking activities with the participants, aimed at scouting all those entrepreneurial realities that can be nominated for the True Enterprises competition.

• Speed Meeting, with a dedicated area and visibility provided to the sponsor within a business meetings area, animated by 3-minute mini meetings, for an informal and sparkling format.

The collaboration continued after the end of the Festival, through the support to the realization of the final of the GoTour competition, in Milan.

Startup For Sustainability sponsored by TIM

Innovation represents a concrete opportunity for the social and economic development not only of our country but of the world, and the WMF has been working since always to foster the development of an innovative ecosystem. This is why TIM chooses to sponsor and support the Startup For Sustainability call implemented by the WMF in 2021.

The call collected more than 100 applications from startups, which proposed their own innovative business project with focus on some of the Sustainabe Development Goals of the 2030 Agenda, identifying virtuous models and tools for a more sustainable future. The winning projects will be able to present their innovative reality to investors, incubators and international companies directly in the Startup District of WMF2022 of the Rimini Expo Center while, the first selected UP2You, will also be able to take its startup and mission abroad by taking part in the WMF International Roadshow.
