AI for Civil Engineering
Artificial intelligence has entered the world of construction and civil engineering not as a future promise, but as a transformation already underway: from structural design to material optimization, from computational BIM to infrastructure monitoring, all the way to reliability and safety assessment. This revolution, long foretold, now demands to be guided with competence, critical thinking, and vision. This stage brings together academia, the construction industry, and institutions for an afternoon to take stock of where we truly stand and where we are heading. The goal is not to celebrate technology, but to discuss honestly what AI can do today, what it cannot yet do, and the responsibilities—technical, regulatory, and ethical—that this transformation brings with it, while keeping the quality and safety of works at the center.

To Care, to Bear Witness, to Resist
During a humanitarian emergency, in contexts marked by conflict, hunger, and violence, words become an integral part of medical action. Denouncing injustice, bearing witness to survivors' stories, and celebrating their resilience is a form of care, especially in the many places far from the media spotlight. This is what the field staff of Doctors Without Borders (MSF) learn—a humanitarian organization that, for over 50 years, has combined medical action with the act of bearing witness. When silence is more terrifying than bombs or epidemics, words can become both healing and defense.

Building Revenue Engines for Impact: from Mission to Measurable Growth
Mission-driven organizations rarely fail for a lack of vision. They fail for a lack of structure in growth. After more than 15 years between international corporates and non-profits, building teams that have generated millions of euros for environmental and social projects, I have learned that impact is not scaled with enthusiasm, but with architecture: clear objectives, defined roles, sales and fundraising systems, strategic partnerships, and results-oriented leadership. In this session, I will share the practical framework I use to transform mission into sustainable growth, without compromising identity and credibility. We will talk about revenue engines, corporate partnerships, team organization, and the main mistakes that block impact-driven entities when they try to grow. This is not a motivational talk. It is an operational method for those who truly want to scale.

Who Tells the Truth? Media, Identity, and New Narratives in the Digital Age
Contemporary crises reach us through images, headlines, and often fragmented content, filtered by the logic of media and digital communication. In a context where information, propaganda, and public perception are constantly intertwined, it becomes crucial to question who shapes collective narratives and which stories remain invisible. Spanning social media, journalism, and new forms of communication, this interview reflects on the relationship between identity, memory, and representation, starting from an analysis of the books by Randa Ghazy and Pegah Moshir Pour.

From artificial intelligence to hybrid intelligence: new ideas for better interaction with AI Technologies
We live alongside machines that write, suggest, diagnose, and make decisions with us. But the real question is not how intelligent these systems are: it is what we become when we learn to use them at their best. Focusing on how to design better hybrid intelligence encourages us to move beyond both enthusiasm and fear, and allows us to understand how to build more lucid and responsible collaborative relationships between people and the technologies they use to work, stay informed, and create value.

Infrastructure has broken the Space - Time continuum
Is it 2025 or 1885? For apps, we are SOLID architects, but infrastructure is still in the Old West, caught between fragile YAML and procedural scripts. Let's get into the DeLorean: let's bring the wisdom of the "Past" into the "Present" of infrastructure through Platform Engineering! We will stop "configuring" and start designing Infrastructure as true Software. You don't need a 1.21-gigawatt lightning bolt to beat technical debt: all it takes is the same care you dedicate to your applications.

Inverting the Architecture: Breaking a Fantasy Football League out of a single tournament
The World Cup is the biggest sporting event in the world, and developers everywhere build apps around it to bring fans closer to the action. We wanted to join in, so we built a fun serverless fantasy football app for the tournament, one that handles unpredictable traffic surges every time a game kicks off. Then we asked: what if this wasn’t just for one tournament, or even one sport? We inverted the architecture, extracting a single-event app into an extensible multi-sport engine. You’ll see the production application and the real code behind it: how we isolated per-sport traffic with multi-tenancy patterns, modelled flexible data structures in serverless databases, and used event-driven patterns to survive game-day traffic spikes while keeping the frontend responsive. No abstract theory. We open the repo and show you best practices for building scalable serverless frontends and backends and that hold up when it matters most.

Responsible, Inclusive, Viable: Rethinking AI for a Sustainable Future
The current trajectory of AI is increasingly unsustainable -- the growing computational demands of AI systems carry significant environmental impacts, the deployment of AI can reinforce and amplify existing inequities, and the escalating costs of developing and maintaining large-scale AI models raise concerns about long-term viability and equitable access. Together, these challenges suggest the need to rethink how we design, build, and deploy AI systems—prioritizing broader sustainability considerations to ensure that future AI innovation is responsible, inclusive, and viable over the long term.

Incompetence as a Systemic Risk: The Hidden Cost of Technical Debt in the Banking Sector
The Cloud was supposed to be a land of flexibility and savings, but for many organizations in Italy, it has turned into a black hole. Why? The truth, unfortunately, lies in structural incompetence. We are not talking about a lack of effort, but rather the organizational capacity to navigate at speeds that differ from technological ones. In this talk, we will examine real-world data and examples from the banking sector to determine the actual costs of these issues: from Monoliths in the Cloud, explaining why migrating legacy problems to new environments doubles costs without adding value, to "Hoped-for" Security and the economic risk of delegating security to individual goodwill rather than automating it on the platform. Finally, we will explore the solution through Platform Engineering: how to create a "software factory" that protects the company from human error and scales in terms of cost-effectiveness rather than price. A thought-provoking session for CEOs and CTOs who want to put an end to the costs of inefficiency and take control of defining the future.

Beyond the Homepage: Designing E-commerce for the "Undecided"
Most e-commerce users land on a Product Detail Page (PDP) or a Product Listing Page (PLP), rather than the homepage. Yet, the majority of sites are still designed as if the customer journey were linear. This session explores the "Discovery Gap": the disconnect between the experience a site assumes and the one the user actually encounters. Through Storeis case studies, A/B testing, and UI patterns, we will examine how to rethink PDPs, PLPs, and internal search to transform every landing point into an effective hub for discovery and conversion.

The Pink Tax: The Price of "Tech for Her"
Why does a splash of rose gold often cost an extra 20%? From pastel laptops to "feminine" smartwatches, tech marketed to women frequently carries a steeper price tag without any boost in technical specs. How does the "Pink Tax" manifest in the digital age, and in what ways do superficial aesthetic shifts mask price gouging? What is the psychology behind gendered branding, and why should "shrinking and pinking" a gadget result in a premium? This session explores how we can demand equity in both hardware and the price tag.

Accessibility and UX in Practice: From Training to Assessment of a Digital Ecosystem
How do you build internal accessibility skills and apply them to a real-world project? In this session, we present a concrete case study developed alongside a client in the digital financial services sector (payments, prepaid cards, and top-ups), featuring their direct perspective on stage. We will start with the training experience provided to the client’s team, designed to foster autonomy in accessibility analysis: from official guidelines (UNI CEI EN 301549 and WCAG) to the use of tools, screen readers, and evaluation methodologies. We will then dive into the actual assessment of the website and app, which identified over 160 unmet success criteria across various touchpoints and devices. We will show how these findings were translated into concrete design requirements, leading to a remediation plan and formal accessibility documentation. The presentation will be enriched by the client’s direct contribution, sharing challenges, organizational impacts, and the value generated. The goal is to offer a practical, replicable framework on how to integrate training and design to make accessibility a structural part of UX processes.

From Telemetry to Tests: Building Agentic QA Loops with MCP and Playwright
The way we build E2E tests is changing. We are moving from static test suites and copy-pasted AI snippets toward agentic workflows where autonomous agents can explore applications, generate tests, validate assumptions and repair failures directly inside the development environment. In this talk we will explore how Model Context Protocol (MCP), Playwright Test Agents and runtime telemetry can be combined to create a real agentic QA loop driven by production signals and user behavior. Starting from a simple application, we will build a practical workflow where telemetry and real user flows are transformed into dynamic test specifications consumed by autonomous Playwright agents. Through live examples we will analyze:- Planner Agents that convert runtime signals and human intent into structured test plans- Generator Agents that produce executable Playwright tests while validating selectors and assertions live- Healer Agents that automatically repair unstable or broken tests- how telemetry and observability data can influence testing priorities- the guardrails needed to safely govern autonomous QA workflows The focus of the session is not “AI that writes tests faster”, but how QA Engineers can evolve from test script authors into orchestrators of quality systems powered by agentic loops and runtime feedback.

Reclaiming Our Shared Humanity: Navigating Global Fragility Through Dialogue, Dignity, and Collective Responsibility
In an era where international law is increasingly undermined, multilateral trust is eroding, and power rivalries threaten global stability, the very fabric of our shared humanity is being tested. Dr. Siyabulela Mandela’s keynote explores how today’s fractured world can rediscover its moral compass by re-centering diplomacy on empathy, justice, and mutual respect. Drawing from the legacies of peacebuilding and the enduring wisdom that liberty and humanity are inseparable, this address calls for a renewed commitment to bridge divides between North and South, state and citizen, progress and principle. Through a lens of diplomacy, human rights, and humanitarian action, Dr. Mandela will illuminate how inclusive dialogue and collective responsibility can reshape the international system, not merely to manage crises, but to transform fragility into an opportunity for lasting peace, shared prosperity, and restored global trust.

The Agent Needs a Product. What changes when agents start using your software
Agents are becoming a new kind of user. They read docs, call tools, run commands, inspect state, and act on someone’s behalf. That changes how software should be built. Using examples from Codex and OpenAI’s plugin ecosystem, Corey Ching will show how to make products useful to agents: when to reach for a skill, MCP server, app, CLI, or a focused combination. The best agent experiences provide the right capabilities that give the agent the missing piece it needs to finish the job.

Modern Fonts: The Hidden Potential of Web Typography Abstract
I bet you’re underusing your fonts, and you may not even realise it. We use web fonts every day, but often treat them as simple assets to load. In reality, modern CSS provides powerful and well-supported tools to control metrics, fallbacks, text rendering and readability. At the same time, it’s important to understand what fonts actually contain (or don’t): from language support and OpenType features to the axes of variable fonts and the palettes of colour fonts. A look at recent techniques at the intersection of CSS and typography to improve layout stability, reading experience and performance, and to build stronger, more effective interfaces.

AI-ccessible: how to use artificial intelligence without breaking the web
AI can generate code in seconds. It writes copy, creates layouts, and suggests components. It’s fast, persuasive, and often… completely inaccessible.Invented ARIA roles. Non-existent color contrast. Incorrect semantic structures. Generic or missing alt text. Forms without labels. AI doesn’t know what it doesn’t know, and it produces outputs that look correct but exclude millions of users. The problem isn’t AI itself. It’s that it’s being used by people who don’t yet have the tools to evaluate its output from an accessibility perspective. And when the reviewer doesn’t know what to look for, errors slip unnoticed into production. In this talk, we’ll cover:The most common accessibility issues generated by AI (with real examples). How to ask the right questions to get more accessible outputs. How to use AI as an ally in testing and reviews. What every digital professional needs to know to avoid blindly trusting generated code.Because the future of the web isn’t about choosing between speed and inclusivity. It’s about learning to demand both.

Sketching an observable state core aligned with the TC39 Signals proposal, with a look to the future to bind it to the DOM using emerging “DOM Parts” ideas for precise updates, finally layering a minimalist template-literal engine that makes JSX feel optional. The result is a reactive, component-capable architecture you can understand in one file, portable from today’s browsers to tomorrow’s platform APIs. Come for the WOW, leave with a starter kit for building real apps in vanillaJS. (Proposals: TC39 Signals, DOM Parts, both in active exploration and limited availability.)

AI: Scaling from (linguistic) models to (economic) markets
The real challenge for businesses in the future will be to shift from model training to market design, from focusing on the engineering and "agency" capabilities of the linguistic model itself to the organizational complexity of the "instituting" assembly that instantiates and enhances it. This shift from "models" to "markets," however, will require a cultural and strategic innovation effort, a radical shift in the paradigms of value co-creation between automation, amplification, and coordination.

How I built my own intelligent Robot Arm from Scratch
Are you tired of the same old AI, LLM, buzzword sessions and wondering if there is still anything new and cool out there we can do with AI? Do you crave an exciting, slightly ridiculous project that's just a lot of fun - while also learning about a whole new field with lots of promise? Don't miss this session! Physical AI is about bringing together all the amazing breakthroughs (yes, like large language models) into the fields of robotics and embedded systems. We can make autonomous robots and systems that can generate their own movement instructions and evolve, without having to painstakingly define all the complex code or even tiny physics-engine implementations to get going. But first - we need to build actual robots! As someone coming from the data science field - this may sound like a bit of a leap. However, with a "I'm sure it can't be that hard" attitude, a bunch of electronics components, and an uncontainable enthusiasm - I set out to do just that. I will share the story of building my own Robot Arm from 0 to an incrementally more complex prototype, and how I started giving it some "AI superpowers", and what's next in this exciting field!

AI-Enhanced Threat Modeling: How to Reduce the Cognitive Load of a Security Architect Without Relinquishing Control
This talk presents the blueprint of a system based on RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) and LLMs designed to accelerate threat modeling activities. The objective is to create a "cybersec tactical droid" that assists the security architect by processing large volumes of input—such as documentation, configurations, diagrams, and code—transforming them into an evidence map. Utilizing a predefined set of questions or "investigative rules" (STRIDE/PASTA/DREAD) mapped to NIST and MITRE ATT&CK frameworks, the assistant proposes the queries most pertinent to the context represented by the ingested documentation. Depending on the operational mode, the security architect may choose to utilize the question list in a traditional investigative manner or delegate the generation and autonomous execution of investigative prompts to the cybersec tactical droid. Fortunately, the Death Star engineers lacked this droid model; otherwise, they would have identified a small thermal exhaust port leading directly to the reactor core.

From Writers to Reviewers: Rethinking Junior Developer Roles in the Age of AI Coding
Vibe coding is here. AI-generated code is everywhere. And many organizations are responding by cutting Junior developer roles — a short-sighted strategy that will backfire. This session challenges that assumption and presents an alternative framework: rather than eliminating Junior roles, evolve them into a critical new function — the expert AI code reviewer. The talk explores why AI-generated code (from Copilot, Claude, Gemini, and others) is still frequently low-quality, incorrect, or incomplete on the first try; why blindly trusting it is a strategic mistake; and how Junior developers, trained properly, can become the human layer that ensures code quality and reduces the senior-level firefighting caused by unreviewed AI output. A real consulting case study underpins the framework. Learning Outcomes: Attendees will understand a concrete workforce strategy for the AI coding era: how to evolve (not cut) Junior talent, what the "AI code reviewer" skill set looks like and how to train it, why this model is more cost-effective than full Senior reliance, and how it future-proofs the organization regardless of how AI coding tools evolve. This is immediately actionable for engineering leads, CTOs, and people managers navigating the AI transition.

When Your Team is AI: Designing Multi-Agent Workflows
In modern software teams, the critical parts of the development lifecycle — code reviews, requirement clarification, and test design — are still manual, inconsistent, and hard to scale. What if these responsibilities could be delegated to a team of AI agents? In this talk, it is presented a real-world system built using n8n and OpenClaw that augments the software development lifecycle through collaborative AI agents. We start from a practical use case: an AI-powered code review agent triggered on Bitbucket pull requests. This agent analyzes code changes, validates them against internal guidelines, and checks alignment with Jira tickets and acceptance criteria. From there, we evolve the system into a multi-agent architecture: - a Product Manager agent that refines and structures requirements, - a Developer agent that performs context-aware code reviews, - a QA agent that generates test cases and identifies edge scenarios. Rather than relying on a single general-purpose LLM, this approach models how real teams work: through specialized roles, structured artifacts, and coordinated workflows. The talk will cover: - how to design agent responsibilities and boundaries, - how to orchestrate agents using workflow automation, - lessons learned from building and running such a system, - and common pitfalls when moving from single-agent to multi-agent architectures. Attendees will leave with practical design patterns to build their own AI-driven development workflows — and a new perspective on what “AI teammates” can actually mean in production systems.
