MarghERita is the super computer that the Emilia-Romagna Region makes available to public administrations in the territory to orient, interpret and guide regional and territorial policy choices with data. The project is financed with resources from the Fund forDevelopment and Cohesion Fund (FSC).The supercomputing machine is equipped with 75 physical computational nodes, each consisting of 2 processors (with dedicated cards for parallel computing), 512 GB of Ram and a graphics card. It enables the realisation of projects that require the processing of large amounts of data (big data), which are initially initiated by the regional administration, autonomously or in collaboration with universities or other public bodies, but which will then be deployed and made available to the local authorities. The call for applications for the use of HPC is online andwill remain open until the end of 2024.Experiments are being conducted by the Emilia-Romagna Region on four application areas: road accident mitigation, environmental disaster prevention, pollution reduction and epidemiological surveillance. During the speech, the hardware and software features of the platform and some ongoing projects will be illustrated. The MarghERita project is led by the Resources, Europe, Innovation and Institutions Directorate of the Emilia-Romagna Region - Digital Innovation, Data, Technology and Archive Centre - Data Area in collaboration with
