Over the past few years, rapid advances have created a new type of Artificial Intelligence: Generative AI. Generative AI produces novel text, images, music, and soHware by analyzing enormous collections of digitized material. Generative AI will change the way we live, work, play, express ourselves, persuade each other, seek a mate, educate our young, and care for our elderly. It will also upend our labor markets, reshuffle the social order, and strain both private and public institutions. This talk will explain how this new technology works and how it will impact human society

We often hear about responsible innovation, but what does that actually mean in practice? On a broad level, it means three things when you innovate: you want to respect the rule of law, do no harm, and you want it to do good. When we talk about innovating with powerful AI technologies, these concepts are often related to data privacy, and protection, ethics and bias, as well as the digital divide in making use of these technologies. We all know that economies and societies can benefits massively from AI when used responsibly. However, balancing the act of working responsibly while harnessing tech requires new ways of thinking and working. One of such emerging paradigm shifts is driven by Synthetic Data. In this talk Shalini will introduce how synthetic data is already changing the way companies are thinking about responsible innovation with a focus on privacy preservation, data quality and ethics, eliminating data scarcity and cutting costs in utilizing AI.
