The Malatesta Temple is one of the most important historical attractions in the city, a place that needs to be included in every tourist tour of the town. Although left unfinished, the cathedral is one of the most beautiful examples of the early Renaissance in Italy. The building, commissioned by Sigismondo Pandolfo Malatesta to celebrate his family, saw the participation of some of the most famous Italian artists of that time. The external structure was designed by Leon Battista Alberti, while the artworks inside were created by Piero della Francesca, Giotto, Giorgio Vasari and Agostino di Duccio.

The historic center of Rimini is packed with well preserved Roman ruins. You can start discovering ancient Roman Rimini by stopping at Arco di Augusto, the oldest surviving Roman archway and the symbol of the city. Moving forward to the city center, you will reach Domus Del Chirurgo, the remains of an ancient Roman house which is now an important archeological complex. To conclude, visit Ponte Tiberio, an imposing bridge erected over the river Marecchia.

Rimini is the hometown to the Italian film director Federico Fellini. Although he never shot a film here, the city deeply influenced his artistic imaginary. If you want to get to know Italy's most celebrated filmmaker, you should visit the historic quarter of Borgo San Giuliano, one of Fellini’s favourite places. Take a stroll in this district and admire plenty of street art depicting scenes and characters from Fellini’s movies.

Located in Viserba di Rimini, Italy in Miniature is an exciting theme park dedicated to Italy and its artistic wonders. The parks offers a path of more than 200 scale reproductions of famous Italian landmarks, where both adults and kids can discover Italy and feel like giants among its architectural treasures.

The hinterland of Romagna offers many fascinating tourist itineraries, with medieval villages, artistic cities and other hidden gems. Visit the mysterious Montebello Castle and learn about the legend of Azzurrina’s ghost, take a stroll through the picturesque streets of medieval Gradara or discover the historic village of Santarcangelo. Finally, venture outside Rimini to discover the mosaics of Ravenna or the ancient Republic of San Marino.

You cannot leave Rimini without tasting one of Romagna’s most famous dishes: the traditional piadina. Its preparation varies greatly according to the area, in Rimini piadina is famous for being thinner than in the other cities of Romagna. Being typical street food, it is easy to find artisan kiosks that serve piadina all around the town. Try combining it with ham and squacquerone cheese.

As for indoor activities, Rimini offers many alternatives. Those who enjoy shopping will certainly love Le Befane Shopping Centre. With more than 130 shops, restaurants and a multiplex cinema, Le Befane Shopping Centre is the ideal place to spend the afternoon with friends.
