Freelance
I'm Emiliano Pisu, 27+ years in the industry, Senior Frontend Engineer, Design Engineer, Speaker and Mentor.

My career has been driven by an obsession with UI, UX, Accessibility, Responsiveness, Compatibility, Scalability, and Maintainability. My goal is to create pixel-perfect UI quality and outstanding UX, regardless of the effort required.

Lately, my focus has shifted from building digital products to giving back to the community that has shaped me. Over the years, I have benefited immensely from open-source projects, discussions, and knowledge sharing.

Now, I feel a deep sense of gratitude and responsibility to contribute back by creating learning resources, mentoring developers, and actively engaging in open-source initiatives.

My Focus, Educating and Giving Back:
- Teaching and mentoring developers to help them navigate the evolving frontend landscape.
- Writing and speaking about vanilla JavaScript, accessibility (a11y), and UI/UX best practices to make complex topics more accessible.
- Contributing to open-source, ensuring that the tools I once relied on continue to grow.
- Leading by example, advocating for accessible, scalable, and maintainable frontend architectures.
- Building a culture of sharing through live coding sessions, workshops, and interactive discussions.

Core Strengths and Values:
- Experience: 27+ years of deep problem-solving expertise.
- Passion: Development is more than a career—it's a continuous journey of learning, teaching, and innovation.
- Accessibility: An Accessibility-first mindset ensures inclusivity for the 20%+ of users with disabilities.
- Compatibility: A deep understanding of responsive, mobile-first design and cross-environment functionality.
- Scalability: Planning for growth from the outset reduces the need for costly refactoring later.
- Maintainability: Clean, adaptable code fosters seamless iterations and strong developer-stakeholder relationships.

Beyond the frameworks and libraries I work with (React, Angular, Vue, Astro), I specialize in crafting UI Kits and Design Systems, use-case-specific components, and templates that streamline development.

My zero-dependency approach encourages creativity, knowledge expansion, and long-term maintainability, producing solutions grounded in research and experimentation.

I strive to bridge the gap between design and development, making the web more inclusive, performant, and accessible. The web has given me a career, and now, in my own way, I am paying it forward by sharing my knowledge and helping others simplify their development journey.
