Dr. Ronald Weissman

Ronald WEISSMAN is Chairman of the Angel Capital Association, North America's umbrella organization for 250 angel groups and 16,000 angels. He is also on the investment committee of Neva, the venture arm of Intesa Sanpaolo (Europe's fifth largest banking conglomerate) and has been Chairman of the Band of Angels' software group for the past 18 years. Formerly, he was a partner at global PE/VC firm, Apax Global. Prior to that, he was global CMO for Verity; ran European and Corporate Marketing as a direct report to Steve Jobs at NeXT, Inc. Prior to that he was Associate Professor of History (Italian Renaissance) at the University of Maryland and VP for Academic Computing at Brown University. He has led investments and/or served as a Board member or advisor in more than 60 companies in the US and Europe, and is the author of the Angel Capital Association's courses on Boards of Directors and on Managing Startup Investment Risks. He write and speaks frequently on the current state of angel investing, venture capital trends and on best practices in investing in Artificial Intelligence. His investing interests include AI for business vertical markets, data analytics and health IT.
