Originally trained as an engineer and a philosopher, Jean-Gabriel Ganascia turned soon to computer science and artificial intelligence. He obtained a PhD on knowledge-based systems in 1983 and a Thèse d'État on symbolic machine learning in 1987, both from the University of Paris-Saclay. He is currently Professor Emeritus at Sorbonne University and he conducts research in digital humanities and computational ethics at LIP6. He is a EurAI Fellow and participates in many ethics committees.
