Artificial Intelligence is redefining our world. Going far beyond simple data processing, today, models of Generative AI and autonomous agents are exponentially accelerating scientific discovery, industrial innovation, and human creativity. This technological revolution offers unprecedented advantages, enhancing human capabilities in almost every sector and opening horizons that until yesterday were only imaginable.

WMF has always paid the utmost attention to these developments, promoting an informed debate on safe, ethical, and responsible AI, hosting distinguished figures from the sector and some of the most advanced tools and projects in the world, organizing dedicated stages and training moments regarding the new possibilities offered by increasingly high-performing machines.

For this reason, through the “WMF For AI” project, we shape our commitment with a series of initiatives for companies, startups, and operators in the world of innovation, aimed at promoting the development, application, and integration of Artificial Intelligence.

The path that will lead us to WMF 2026 is marked by a rich calendar of international and vertical events. The activities will kick off in the second half of 2025 with highly specialized appointments organized by Search On Media Group, the parent company of WMF, such as the Advanced SEO Tool (AI Edition), which will be held on September 24th in Milan, and Search Connect (AI Edition), scheduled in Bologna on December 4th and 5th: events aimed at exploring the most concrete applications of AI in the digital world and online search.

The first half of 2026 will then see the long-awaited return of the AI Festival, scheduled for January 21st and 22nd in Milan, and the international stop of WMF's AI for Future in March in San Francisco, in the heart of Silicon Valley, a strategic bridge to foster synergies and investments between Europe and the United States, concluding at the AI Global Summit, the landmark event for AI, which takes place every year within WMF.

These will be joined by new events such as the AI Conference, AI Commerce, or AI for NPOs, while the Master in AI & Digital Strategy will be reactivated.

Regarding editorial projects and free training and dissemination activities, WMF For AI includes: the “Futuro, Presente!” podcast, whose first and second seasons are entirely dedicated to Artificial Intelligence, and the "AI Vision" podcast, which features the voices of some of the best minds in the AI field.

Every event and initiative of WMF for AI consolidates the nature of WMF: a global platform that operates year-round in promoting and disseminating culture, training, and high-impact business opportunities in the AI and Digital Tech world. WMF 2026 will be the culmination of this journey, the moment when the international community of changemakers will gather in Bologna to define the present and future trajectories of innovation.

Call Startup AI4Future

Final: January 21-22, 2026, Milan | WMF: June 24-26, 2026, Bologna

The competition for startups with AI applications capable of addressing the 12 future challenges of WMF. 6 finalists will access the final at the AI Festival (Milan, January 21-22, 2026), and another 30 startups will access WMF 2026 (June 24-26, BolognaFiere) to engage with the present global ecosystem. Thanks to the collaboration between WMF, the Tecnopolo di Bologna, and the Metropolitan City of Bologna, the best startups will have the opportunity to access the spaces of the Tecnopolo, home to the Leonardo Supercomputer.

WMF in Silicon Valley

March 2026, San Francisco

With the support of ICE - the Agency for the promotion abroad and internationalization of Italian companies, the WMF-branded event "AI for Future" will be held in March 2026 in San Francisco. Startups, Companies, Investors, and professionals from the world of artificial intelligence will meet to engage in panels with international investors and VCs, training speeches, and top-level dissemination. An AI Startup Competition will also take place, featuring a face-off between 4 Italian startups and 4 US startups.
