AI for Health

Artificial Intelligence and the Impact of Fake News in the Health World

When we think of the light and dark sides of the force, we are immediately transported into a cinematic dimension where the dualism between good and evil is narrated in a simplified scenario in which it is easy to identify the good from the bad. One might then ask what this introduction has to do with artificial intelligence and the Health world. Well, although it is highly discouraged, often the first contact with information regarding health is through the internet, with all its pros and cons. The widespread dissemination of fake news related to the health world, for example, projects us into a dualistic dimension of maximum trust or high hesitation towards the healthcare system. Moreover, so-called fake news can be more plausible if generated by AI. The statistics are clear: these have fueled doubt and suspicion towards healthcare systems worldwide. In this intricate world of news, where it is not always easy to distinguish the good from the bad, it is always artificial intelligence that can play the role of an antidote to counter increasingly sophisticated disinformation systems. The circle closes, therefore, leading us to a true opposition between two forms of AI in the Health world.
