From Artificial Intelligence to Artificial Communication

Today's machine learning algorithms process data and handle information radically differently from the human mind: this difference is not a weakness, but the reason for the success of these technologies. Advanced algorithms have not learned to become intelligent, but to do something else that humans do on the basis of intelligence: they have learned to participate in communication, as Esposito explains in his book "Artificial Communication" (Bocconi University Press).
