Women and Tech: The Other Side of the Music Industry
The world of music is often imagined as an artistic context where talent prevails, simplified to the reality of the stage and imagined as a somewhat undefined environment. However, making music means following creative and technical paths, especially when dealing with production. And in this framework, how many women are there? Alessandra Micalizzi, SAE professor, and Elasi, producer and co-founder of the POCHE collective, will delve into the gender disparity present in the music industry, and even more specifically in electronic music and production. By combining a more academic perspective based on data with the direct experience of those who make and live music every day, they will attempt to reconstruct the Italian landscape, its potential, and its peculiarities.
