On Friday, June 14th, the Final of the Startup Competition of WMF 2024 took place on the Mainstage.

Within the World Startup Fest - the international event for startups, scaleups, and investors held within WMF - the Final of the largest international competition for startups takes place. It involves Italian and foreign entities presenting their projects to investors, market players, accelerators, large companies, and the various actors of the international innovation ecosystem present at WMF 2024 (June 13th, 14th, and 15th, BolognaFiere).

The competition, streamed live worldwide, sees the representatives of the 6 finalist startups (selected from over 5,000 applications from more than 120 countries) take turns on the main stage. Each delivers a 3-minute pitch, presenting their projects and how they address the 12 Future Challenges identified by WMF, aiming to convince the official jury and the audience to win the prizes.

Among the stakeholders of the World Startup Fest and Open Innovation and VC Fest are: Intesa San Paolo Innovation Center, EIT Digital, European Investment Bank, SAP, Invitalia, CDP Venture Capital, European Defence Fund, Zest, Indra, Caixa, LG Nova

BaseTracK offers a 20% fuel savings for human-driven trucks and an automated transport service for all weather conditions. Drivers are inefficient—it's in human nature. People cannot calculate optimal driving parameters considering all relevant conditions, they cannot memorize all roads, and they cannot always perform at the same level. This system will do the job, so every driver will have the most experienced and professional robot-driver by their side.

Intuos is a modular software platform that optimizes and simplifies aircraft owners' operational processes, thanks to the availability of flight and engine status insights based on real-time data collected and transmitted by IoT devices to the base, on which predictive AI-based algorithms are applied. 90% of fleets still have limited digital technologies and are unable to provide data for analysis; much of the instrumentation only supports the pilot during flight, and with the remaining life of the aircraft extending beyond 50 years, safety and maintenance issues are becoming increasingly important.

The WMF encourages and supports the development of innovative entrepreneurial projects also capable of producing a positive influence on the environment and society.
